Obstacle

An Obstacle is an obstruction that can spawn in the corridors of dungeons. It will prevent the party from moving through the hallway and can be removed either by using a Shovel or by hand. If no shovel is used, the party will take damage equal to 20% of their max health and 15 stress as well as a 20-point reduction of the light meter (note that the light level is decreased before the stress damage is taken).

They appear in every dungeon, so it is recommended to take at least 3 shovels on any expedition, as the penalties for removing an obstacle by hand are quite severe.

Unique obstacles

In the Treasury, an Obstacle known as Hardened Sap may appear, which requires an Antivenom instead of a shovel to clear. In the Caverns, an Obstacle known as the Egg Clutch may appear, which requires a Torch to clear.
