The Troglodyte Gastrosaur is a Troglodyte/Beast enemy and a Boss encountered in the Caverns.

Helm: The Gastrosaur

Selective breeding is perhaps the one intelligent skill the Troglodytes possess. The Gastrosaur is one such an example of their pursuit of the perfect specimen, this monstrosity has been the bane of ground caravans and is in no small part responsible for the capture of a great many victims. You know what must be done.

~ The Captain

Behaviour

The Troglodyte Gastrosaur has three phases to its battle.

Phase One

The Troglodyte Nestwatcher and Troglodyte Piker on its back will use their attacks. This is mostly for setup, dealing minor damage, stress and Amberblight.png Amberblighting a few Heroes.

  • During Prep Round, Egg-valuation will be used for a battle long +8 ACC Poptext buff.png Buff.
  • This Phase ends when the Troglodyte Gastrosaur reaches 80% HP, where it will use Wild Temper to Poptext buff.png Buff itself and fling off the Piker into rank 1 where it will become a normal enemy.

Phase Two

This phase is when the Troglodyte Gastrosaur starts to become more violent.

  • Whiplash Strike inflicts moderate damage but more notably Poptext stun.png Stuns and Push forward.png Knockbacks all the way to rank 4.
  • Predators Feast inflicts high damage with a weak Poptext bleed.png Bleed and a 5% Heal.png Heal. It can target the Hero with the lowest Bleed resistance.
  • Light Lunch will kill one of the two handlers instantly if they are present, Heal.png Healing for 15% HP. This will be prioritized.

This Phase ends when the Gastrosaur reaches 40% HP, where it will use Wild Temper to Poptext buff.png Buff itself and fling off the Nestwatcher into rank 1 where it will become a normal enemy or create a Hunting Pack with the Piker if its still alive.

Phase Three

The Gastrosaur becomes enraged at this point and no longer is being controlled by its handlers. It still has access to its moves from Phase 2.

  • Impalement is used to activate Riposte.png Riposte for 3 turns. It can only be used as the first action of the round.
  • Colossus Crash does moderate full party damage and has a high chance to Shuffle party.png Party Shuffle. It does less damage the further back the attacked Hero is.
  • Light Lunch becomes Full Dinner, doubling its Heal.png Healing.

COOLDOWNS:

  • All Piker / Nestwatcher attacks, Predator's Feast and Whiplash Strike have a 1 turn cooldown.
  • Colossus Crash has a 3 turn cooldown.
  • Impalement has a 5 turn cooldown.

Cooldowns are based on actions.

It has a small chance to target the Hero with the lowest HP. (0.15 weighting)

Like all Troglodyte enemies, it ignores Stealth when attacking.
