Enemy Type

From Black Reliquary Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Just like Enemies in Darkest Dungeon, enemies in Black Reliquary belong to one or multiple Types. Certain quirks, trinkets or hero abilities may have effects that only trigger on certain types of enemies such as the Nemesis quirk which confer an accuracy and damage bonus to a certain type of enemy.

As a minor legend, entries in bold are bosses, while entries which are underlined are exclusively boss summons and are listed beneath their respective boss. Enemies with the Amber Using icon.png icon next to them use amber for the purposes of the Amber Eating Capuchin Trinket.

Faction Types

These are the main enemy types for enemy factions. These are usually the types used for Trinket and Quirk effects.

Major Factions

These factions are the primary enemy type of the 4 regions and the only ones that can be the subject of Fear of Faction / Faction Intimitated / Faction Nemesis / Faction Skirmisher quirks gained from successful attacks or Hero deaths.

Levantine

Conscripted by the Vizier, the Levantine forces are tasked with the excavation and recovery of Kvarotz relics and technology in the Catacombs. They operate as trained soldiers, typically working together and fighting with advanced tacics.

Troglodyte

Former Kvarotz slaves, twisted by prolonged exposure to Amber and turned into beasts. They make the Caverns their home. Their hard carapaces afford them higher levels of PROT and Bleed resistance but make them vulnerable to stun attacks. When attacking, they can afflict your party with the Amberblight status as well as heavy bleed, blight, stress and chance of disease.

Swarm is a trait exclusive to Troglodyte enemies; after 3 turns have passed, they are joined by another enemy doubling their health (healing in the process) and gain an extra action with extra skills depending on which Troglodyte joined them.

Due to being blind, they ignore Stealth and typically do not target heroes that are marked at a higher weight than normal.

Wildlander

Vicious and ruthless warriors found within the sands of the Exposed Interior.

Cactonid

Shapeshifting plants that lurk inside the Treasury.

Minor Factions

These factions have their own set of quirks Faction Challenger / Wary of Faction gained from successful attacks or Hero deaths.

Kvarotz

Ancient relics that still walk lands under the Reliquary, they can be found in all regions when the torch level is below 50.

Lost Legion

A collective of zealous crusaders that have come to plunder The Valley. They battle with the power of the Light, and are typically more effective against Pagan heroes.

Wildlife

Animals that reside within these lands, they are primarily found in the Treasury, but can rarely spawn in other areas.

Ghoul

Unholy abominations that can spawn in any area, besides the Ghoul Mother which spawns in a special mission in the Exposed Interior.

Minor Types

These are enemy subtypes that are normally accompanied by faction types. These are usually the types used for individual Skill effects.

Human

Normal human or humanoid enemies, the majority of Levantine, Wildlanders and Lost Legion have this as a subtype.

Unholy

Typically undead enemies, such as Ghouls and Kvarotz, have this subtype.

Beast

Wild beasts, Most Troglodtytes have this subtype.

Cosmic

Creatures from the stars.

Eldritch

Beings twisted by dark powers, all Cactonid enemies have a subtype of eldritch.

Stonework

Made with or from stone/metal, all Kvarotz enemies have a subtype of stonework.

Other

Enemies that fit in no other category.
